This is a wonderful Paraguay Order of National Merit Grand Cross Badge. Complete enamel order with ribbon. Gilt bronze and white enamel five-pointed star with ball-tipped finials.  The gilt ribbed arms between the points supporting a green enamel stylised laurel wreath, on laurel wreath suspension; the face with a circular central gilt medallion with a Lion Face encircled by a blue enamel ring inscribed in gilt letters ‘HONOR ET GLORIA’; the reverse with a circular central gilt medallion bearing the date ‘1939’ encircled by a blue enamel ring inscribed in gilt letters ‘PRAEMIUM MERITI’. The Order is in mint condition. Measures: 10 cm including the ring by 6 cm wide. An absolute most for collectors!
