    . The 71-3050B is a VHF 5-50W unit.  150-174 MHz Range "B"
    **NOTE : Operator should tune down to the 144-148MHZ ham band just fine or with minor VCO retuning.

    . The events of 911 clearly showed how  internet and cellular systems jammed and failed, this may be the only viable method
    of communication in the event of severe emergency situations.

Having been an emergency services volunteer for many years areas affected by Hurricanes, Earthquake, Fire, Tornadoes or other natural disasters the only means of communication is via Ham or CB radio communications.  Cellular towers are no longer operational, all electrical services have been interrupted and the only communication is obtained through mobile communication vehicles with generators, antenna and ham operator systems.
